The Conclusion component of each module summarizes the context and events of the period studied and sets forth preliminary conclusions based on the evidence provided. Students may further consider the implications of the materials through the discussion and writing assignments provided within the module.
No matter how carefully historians investigate the evidence, however, it is rarely possible to know for sure which accounts are the most accurate or to determine with certainty what happened in the past. There are no "right" answers to many of the questions raised in the Digital History Reader.
As you read the different modules, all you can do is consider the evidence carefully, make reasoned judgments based on what seems the most reliable evidence available, and be prepared to provide clear explanations of how you reached your conclusions.
